Visiting the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama with the Cape Gazette
In October, Ed and Cathy Tessein took their 16-year-old granddaughter, Michaela Tessein, to the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama.
“It was very enlightening, but also very disturbing,” said Cathy. “There is so much that we were not taught in school. It is a very sobering depiction of our history that so many of us do not know. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how many people were at the museum and the presentation. I was especially pleased to see the diversity of the crowd. I believe this is a must see for everyone. We were hoping to see Bryan Stevenson at the museum, but it was not to be. However, we met then-candidate, Beto O’Rourke who was leaving from another exit. He was in Montgomery for a rally later that evening.”
Cathy was very excited and looking forward to seeing Bryan’s movie, “Just Mercy,” being released Dec. 25.
