Walk to End Alzheimer’s held
Prior to the walk, participants raise flowers creating a Promise Garden. A blue flower represents someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia; a purple flower is for someone who has lost a loved one to the disease; a yellow flower represents someone who is currently supporting or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s; and an orange flower is for everyone who supports the cause and vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.

The Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s was held Sept. 30 at Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach. The Rehoboth Beach walk is the largest fundraiser per capita of all the Alzheimer’s Walks nationwide. This year 642 people participated, raising in excess of $100,000.
All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer’s further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. The top fundraiser was the Delaware Seashore Parrot Head Club with $10,500, and the Dewey Beer Company close behind at $10,290.
Prior to the walk several individuals spoke about their experiences with the disease, along with executives from the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter.
