What a Delaware football team looked like 118 years ago

It’s football time of year with NFL playoffs completed and Super Bowl LV on the horizon. The game has come a long way since the 1902 Delaware College football team posed for this photograph. Delaware College, dating back to 1843, was the predecessor to the University of Delaware, which formed in 1921, when Delaware College combined with a women’s college to become the university. Delaware College fielded its first football team in 1889.
