Wheel throwing for beginners starts June 5 at Rehoboth Art League
Release an inner artist and develop a new skill with the potter's wheel. This is the perfect class to introduce oneself to wheel throwing. Wheel Throwing for Beginner Potters at the Rehoboth Art League is a series of six classes scheduled Wednesday nights, June 5 through July 10 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Local potter Jeff Stickle will teach participants the basics of the wheel, centering, opening, and pulling up to create the basic wheel form - the cylinder. Learn to trim and glaze the work to leave the class with a first piece of pottery. The cost is $175 per person for members and $210 per person for nonmembers. The registration fee includes the cost of clay, and the bisque firing and glazing of pieces. Expect to get messy, be challenged, and leave with a new skill set.
To register for Wheel Throwing for Beginner Potters go to www.rehobothartleague.org or call the art league at 302-227-8408, Ext. 112. All classes are held at the Rehoboth Art League located at 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres.
