William T. Travers Jr., ‘70s, ‘80s disc jockey

William T. Travers Jr. (Tom), 63, of Long Neck, formerly of Newark, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Beebe Healthcarein Lewes.

He was born in Wilmington Sept. 9, 1955, son of the late William T. Travers Sr. (Bill) and the late Elizabeth Via Travers (Betty).  He was a graduate of Brandywine High School.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Linda Travers; and by his son, Rhett J. Travers and his wife Katie Travers; and five grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Susan VanDuyne; brother-in-law Thomas VanDuyne; and niece, Sara VanDuyne.

Tom loved working as a disc jockey at local restaurants and bars in Newark, and played music for a decade of University of Delaware students and fans of the Super ‘70s and Awesome ‘80s Shows.  

Due to Tom’s lengthy illness, funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association and COPD Foundation.
