Womens’ Art Project weekend set Jan. 12-14 in Rehoboth Beach
Gay Women of Rehoboth announced a premier weekend event, the Womens’ Art Project, is set for Friday to Sunday, Jan. 12 to 14, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.
The lineup is packed with music, games and dancing, including guitarist Yasmin Williams and comedian Jessica Kirson.
The mission of GWOR is to create a community for the gay women of Rehoboth that embraces unity through education, the arts, and social and entertainment events. “We wanted to fill that empty winter gap with fun, excitement and community,” said Lisa Soens, GWOR executive director. “There isn’t much happening up and down the East Coast at that time of year, so we decided to bring a fantastic range of musical and comedic talent that’s new to Rehoboth. We are showcasing talent that will attract a diverse group of women who may not know about Rehoboth Beach.”
Soens added, “The weekend lineup is impressive: Nashville star Sarah Peacock, the Dina Hall Band, saxtress Pamela Williams, the Gem Fatales, E’lissa Jones, Be Steadwell, Vici Martinez, as well as Las Vegas poker runner-up champ DJ Brooke. Some of these performers are new to Rehoboth and we are delighted to introduce them to a new audience.”
Tickets can be bought as a weekend pass at $110 or $75 each for Friday and Saturday. Poker, bingo and cornhole are charged separately.
Sunday is a free day that begins with a salute to women veterans and first responders, and concludes with a cornhole tournament and an afternoon tea dance. Musical acts and events are still being added. For more information and to purchase tickets and make hotel accommodations, go to gaywomenofrehoboth.org.
