Woodard-Toomey marriage announced

Matthew Toomey and Freida Woodard were united in marriage June 15, 2024, at Jason Beach in Laurel.

The Hon. Rae M. Mims officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

Woodard is the daughter of Deborah Revel and Clyde Franklin of Dagsboro.

Toomey is the son of Dale and Penny Toomey of Laurel.

The bride wore a white, crystal-beaded sweetheart dress. Her bouquet consisted of roses in every shade of blue.

Maid of honor was Tammy Franklin of Georgetown, sister to the bride.

Bridesmaids were Kylie Murray and Kate Ryan of Georgetown, amazing friends of the bride

Best man was Matthew Murphy of Laurel, best friend of the groom. 

A reception was held following the ceremony at Gumboro Fire Hall in Gumboro.

The bride is employed by the State of Delaware as a peace officer. The groom is employed as a millwright by O’Neal’s Millwright in  Lincoln.

The couple took a 7-day honeymoon trip to Chincoteague Island, Va., and will reside in Milford.
