Writer Bill Newcott to sign books at Browseabout July 14

July 12, 2024

Browseabout Books will host Bill Newcott for a signing of his award-winning collection, "All the Right Wrong Turns: True (and Sometimes Twisted) Tales of Coastal Delaware From the Back Roads to the Beaches," from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, July 14, at 133 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

An off-kilter sense of humor and a keen eye for detail have become trademarks of the Lewes resident’s long career, including memorable stints as gossip column writer at The National Enquirer; expeditions and space science editor at National Geographic magazine; entertainment editor, travel editor and weekly radio host for AARP the Magazine; and currently, weekly film critic for The Saturday Evening Post and weekly on-air contributor for Radio Rehoboth’s “Daybreak Morning Show.”

Drawing upon Newcott’s series of articles for Delaware Beach Life magazine, the book explores Coastal Delaware’s quirky people, places and past.

“Bill is one of those writers whose stories feel like a chat with a good friend – and a funny one, to boot,” said Terry Plowman, Delaware Beach Life editor. “Sit back and enjoy a fresh look at some common local scenes through the eyes of an uncommon writer.”
