Being flocked again
I've been flocked twice in my life – once in Seaford by the Soroptimist Club and now in Lewes by Girl Scout troops 1482 and 1485.
It was a hoot to look out the door on April 1 – good joke – and see the yard filled with about 40 bright pink plastic flamingos.
The girls are raising money for a 2016 trip to Europe promised to them by Troop Leader Janet Maher. She told the girls when they first started scouting if they stayed with it until they were seniors in high school, she would plan the trip for them. She's upholding her end of the bargain and the girls are working hard to raise $4,000 each.
To support the cause, contact Maher and tell her who you want to flock for $25. Then the flockee will pay $25 to get the things off their front yard onto someone else's yard. The birds are in place three days. See how it works? Contact Maher at 302-258-3327 or at youvebeenflocked1482@gmail.com.
The flamingos looked nice. I'm considering buying a few to place around the yard. Then again, maybe not.
