Lewes hosts British car show

The 16th Annual British Car Show was held on the grounds of the Lewes Historical Society May 7. Sponsored by the British Car Club and hosted by the Lewes Historical Society, 97 British cars, from vintage to contemporary, competed for trophies in eight categories voted on by the paying public. The featured marque for this year's show was the MG T series circa 1935-36.

 

Winners were selected by a popular vote of show attendees at the Lewes Historical Society complex.  The winners are listed by categories based on the age of the car.

Best in Show; Bill Tattersall and Dana Mason, Frankford; 1948 Triumph 2000 Roadster

Category I - Up to 1956

First place: Dennis Gilligan, Pasadena, Md.; 1952 Jaguar XK120

Second place: James McMahon, Lewes; 1950 Riley RMD Drophead

Third place: Bill Yonkers, Lutherville, Md.; 1951 Landrover

First place: Dennis Morrison, Fallston, Md.; 1960 TR3A
