Lewes hosts British car show

This 1952 Jaguar XK 120 owned by Dennis Gilligan of Pasadena, Md., placed first in Category I, up to 1956.

Fred Schuchard cleans some sap off his ‘71 Morgan Plus 8 after moving it out from under a particularly sappy tree. Schuchard’s Morgan placed first in Class IV, 1969-1974.
First place winner in the Premier Class and Best in Show winner in the 2009 show is Dean Boyden of Milton with his 1960 Jaguar MK IX.

The 16th Annual British Car Show was held on the grounds of the Lewes Historical Society May 7. Sponsored by the British Car Club and hosted by the Lewes Historical Society, 97 British cars, from vintage to contemporary, competed for trophies in eight categories voted on by the paying public. The featured marque for this year's show was the MG T series circa 1935-36.

 

Winners were selected by a popular vote of show attendees at the Lewes Historical Society complex.  The winners are listed by categories based on the age of the car.
