Rethinking Color as a Painter at Rehoboth Art League March 11

Artist Jan Crooker to hold workshop

Artist Jan Crooker, noted for her palette of brilliant, intense hues, will hold a workshop, Rethinking Color as a Painter, Saturday, March 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will learn tools to help them understand master works and influence their artistic viewpoint. They also will learn tricks of color analysis to apply to their own existing artwork. The workshop will consist of a lecture, visuals, hands-on color mixing and the application of color to existing paintings. The cost of the workshop is $60 per person.

Crooker holds an MFA from Penn State and a bachelor’s degree in art education from Toledo University. She has taught at universities in Pennsylvania and California. Color has been her passion since she was a young child. She paints both landscapes and high-contrast still life. The Delaware beaches with their amazing light and color inspire her work.
