Grotto Pizza to donate all May 15 proceeds to Stephen Ballard Memorial Fund
All Grotto Pizza Delaware locations will donate 20 percent of all revenues, from open to close Monday, May 15, to the DSTA Stephen Ballard Memorial Fund, in honor of fallen hero Cpl. Stephen Ballard. On April 26, Ballard was gunned down on duty in a parking lot in Bear. The memorial fund will help his wife and 5-year-old daughter.
Dominick Pulieri, founder and owner of Grotto Pizza, said, "This is a terrible tragedy. I have so much respect for the men and women of the Delaware State Police. It is a reminder just how dangerous this job is for our state troopers. My deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Cpl. Stephen Ballard."
To help with the fundraiser, guests may dine at any of these Grotto locations: Grand Slam Lewes, Rehoboth Avenue, South Boardwalk Rehoboth, Dover, Milford, Long Neck, Seaford, Wilmington at Pennsylvania Avenue and Concord Pike locations, Newark and Middletown. The 20 percent will include all dine-in, takeout and delivery orders.
