Enjoy an evening of fine dining, wine and music among lavender gardens Tuesday, May 23, when the Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market holds its annual Farmers Market Feast at Lavender Fields Farm in Milton. Chef Lion Gardner of Blue Moon Restaurant in Rehoboth will prepare a 3-course meal with locally sourced food, much of it coming from the market on the day of the dinner. Wine will be paired with each course.
Enjoy a glass of sangria or prosecco during the cocktail hour that begins at 6 p.m. with an oyster raw bar, mini lobster and crab rolls, and cheeses among the appetizers. Following cocktails, guests will dine under a tent. The first course consists of seared Maryland scallops and spring pea risotto with an accompanying Chateau Gassier Esprit Gassier Rosé. This is followed by the second course of marinated roasted beef and market vegetables. The paired wine is Mas la Chevaliere Pinot Noir. Guests will top off dinner with a shortcake of local strawberries and chocolate brownie cream liqueur.
Throughout the evening, Bruce Anthony and Sam Noble will provide great blues and jazz. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays at the Information Tent at the Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market in Grove Park at the Rehoboth Beach Circle behind the Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center, or by calling 302-249-7878. Payment can be made by cash or credit.
Sponsors include Bacchus Importers, Lavender Fields and Bin 66. Proceeds from the dinner are used for marketing and maintenance of the market tents.
