Tidewater Utilities Water/Wastewater professionals honored
Tidewater Utilities Inc.'s Water and Wastewater operators were recognized for their outstanding performances at a Delaware Technical Community College ceremony in May. The ceremony recognized deserving water and wastewater operators and on-site professionals, and the roles they play in protecting and creating a healthy environment for the citizens of Delaware.
The following Tidewater employees and teams were recognized:
Thomas Herholdt received the Allen J. Williams Lifetime Achievement Award for over 40 years of dedication and service in the water and wastewater industry. Herholdt retired from Tidewater in February 2017.
Tidewater's Northern District Operators were nominated for the Water/Wastewater Professionals Team Award for their quick response in bringing one of their troubled contract operation plants back into regulatory compliance. The team consists of Al Miller, James Craig, Jim Faulkner, Purnell Potter, Mike Vonville, Dan Wakefield, Regan Cummings, Mike Evans and Mike Funk.
Alexis Virdin-Gede was named Delaware Water Operator of the Year in recognition of the excellence she delivers on a daily basis as a compliance manager in Water Quality. Also nominated for the Delaware Water Operator of the Year was Linda Little for her support of facilities and her expertise in the compliance field.
Gloria Lefchick and James Taylor of Tidewater's Central District were also nominees for the Delaware Wastewater Operator of the Year.
