Joseph C. Russell Jr., retired electrician

Mr. Joseph C. Russell Jr., 74, of Millsboro, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017. 

Mr. Russell was born in Wilmington, April 16, 1943, to the late Joseph C. Russell Sr. and Bernice Windsor Russell. He graduated from John Dickinson High School in Wilmington, and later took accounting night classes at Delaware Tech. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a Seabee. Joe was an electrician by trade, and was also a member of the Armstrong Masonic Lodge No. A.F. & A.M. in Newport. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, reading just about any kind of book or newspaper, and kept up on the latest electronic gadgets.

He leaves behind his devoted companion of 37 years, Terri O'Neal of Millsboro; one sister, Barbara Smith and her husband Temple; two nephews, Kenny Maynard and his wife Kathy, and Joey Smith and his wife Kathy, all of Wilmington. He is also survived by a special friend, Paul Bradley, as well as his beloved feline friends, Abby and Emily.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe's memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 E. Ohio St., Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611.
