Motorists can expect delays and increased pedestrian activity Saturday, June 24, on Route 1 in Dewey Beach while the 21st Annual Running of the Bull event is taking place at the The Starboard.
Northbound and southbound traffic on Route 1 will be stopped for approximately five minutes at 2 p.m. as runners leave The Starboard. DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center will be adjusting traffic signals to assist motorists traveling through Dewey Beach. Traffic signals along these routes will be monitored and adjusted by DelDOT's Transportation Management Center to ensure the flow of traffic on Route 1. Variable message boards will be posted for motorists.
Motorists can adjust their routes or travel times by using the DelDOT app, available free for Apple and Android smartphones and tablets at the Apple and Google Play stores or at deldot.gov. Drivers are encouraged to call the following numbers at the Transportation Management Center to report any travel- or traffic-related issues: Dial #77 from any cellphone in Delaware; or 302-659-4600 or 800-324-8379. Dial 911 for emergencies.
