The Milford police put the kibosh on runners racing down Airport Road Wednesday night, June 28, so the Delaware Hospice 5K on Patriots Way had more circles than a box of Froot Loops, but that didn’t deter 232 runners. That was double the number from last year getting after the 5K race that started at 6:30 p.m. under sunny skies with 62-degree temperatures.
Drew Harris, 18, of Harrington was the overall winner in 17:19 closely followed by Bryan Perry in 17:50. Completing the top five leaderboard were Francisco Puac in 18:21, Lance Skinner in 18:24 and Moiber Rivera in 18:43.
The women’s race was won by Emily Holstein, 17, in 20:58. She was followed by Sara Bushey, 22:46, Eileen Davis, 22:46, Hannah Minnich, 23:57 and Brittany Betts, 24:09.
