Sussex Tech Adult Ed announces Fall/Winter 2017-18 schedule

The Sussex Tech Adult Education Division has announced the Fall 2017/Winter 2018 course schedule. To view the schedule online, go to www.SussexTechTraining.net. Schedules are available at a variety of locations throughout Sussex County.

Again this year the Sussex Tech Adult Education Division is offering a variety of certification courses in high-demand health professions fields. Classes include certificate programs for phlebotomy technician, pharmacy technician and medical office clinical. Also, certified nursing assistant programs are available with both day and evening classes. Many of these classes are approved for funding through the Delaware Department of Labor. In addition, there are a limited number of certified nursing assistant seats available for free tuition through a grant from the Delaware Workforce Investment Board.

In addition to health professions, career and technical training is available in welding, heating/air-conditioning/refrigeration and early care education. Sussex Tech Adult Education also offers apprenticeship training in electrical trades, plumbing, auto mechanics and other areas.

Supporting the vibrant hotel and tourism industry, Sussex Tech Adult Division has recently rolled out a Hospitality, Tourism and Travel Program offering training and certifications in the hospitality field. For more information on courses and availability, call 302-856-9035.

It is never too late to earn a high school diploma. James H. Groves Adult High School at Sussex Tech is the answer. Classes are available in Georgetown, Ellendale, Laurel, Lewes, Seaford and Selbyville.

Contract training and job skills analyses can be customized for businesses whose employees need to update their skills or training in a particular area. Sussex Tech can analyze current job skills and make recommendations for program improvement and efficiencies. Employers may call to speak to a training specialist about working together to design a program that works.
