William R. Struble, community volunteer
William Robert Struble, 75, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at his home. He was born March 28, 1942, in Paterson, N.J., son of the late Lawton and Mary (Bishop) Struble.
Mr. Struble worked as a facilities technician for 39 years at Verizon in New Jersey. He volunteered his time at the Beebe Thrift Store and restoring the United States Lightship Overfalls. Mr. Struble was a proud 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 943 in Butler, N.J., and he attended St. Edmond Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the beach, surf fishing and golfing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Struble was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mark Matthews and his brother, Walter Struble. He is survived by his loving wife, Regina M. Struble of Lewes; his daughters: Jennifer (Kenneth) Graffeo of Waxhaw, N.C., Melissa Matthews of Lake Wylie, S.C., and MaryBeth (David) Bravman of Berlin Boro, N.J.; his eight grandchildren: Ryan, Alex and Julia Graffeo, Evan and Emily Matthews, and Conner, Ava and Sophia Bravman; his brothers, Lawton (Kathy) Struble of West Milford, N.J.; and his sisters, Jane (Richard) Brophy of West Milford, and Mary (Phil) Ascolese of University Park, Fla.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 4, at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach, where friends may visit beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel.
