Donald F. Greene, accomplished businessman
Donald Frederick Greene, 67, born Oct. 1, 1943, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He resided in White Plains, N.Y. and retired to Rehoboth Beach in 2006. He was an accomplished businessman and attorney.
He was one of five children and was the beloved husband of Hazel Greene for 45 years. Donald was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Worthy; brother Dennis “Carl” Burke III; and sister Janet Burke. He will forever be remembered by his wife; his two sisters, Sharyn D. Greene and Jennifer Willis; his two children and their spouses, Quincy and Marilyn Greene, and John Peeples and Nefertiti Greene; his four grandchildren, Jack, Kali, Myles, and Jordyn; along with countless family and friends. Donald was an avid Jazz fan, prolific reader, world traveler, great bridge partner to his wife, mentor to all, wonderful husband and loving Father.
He touched the lives of his family, friends and co-workers. His generosity and caring were without bound. He only cared about the welfare of others and has requested that all gifts and donations be directed to Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity found at wwww.feedingamerica.org.
