Catherine Elizabeth Harmon, Antioch AME member

Catherine Elizabeth Harmon, 99, of Frankford, departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation & Health Center in Millsboro.

Born in Frankford, she was the daughter of the late John Andrews and Audrey Long Andrews. Her husband, Preston S. Harmon Sr., also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Harmon was a member of Antioch A.M.E. Church in Frankford, where she served as a missionary, stewardess, and member of the Senior Choir.

 Prior to retiring, she worked at the Stockley Center in Georgetown.

 She will be lovingly remembered by two daughters, Hester Harmon and Sherry H. Hailey; three sons, Dale Harmon, Terry (Judy) Harmon and Anthony (Roslyn) Harmon Sr.; another daughter-in-law, Gloria Andrews; a special niece, Priscilla Ringgold; a special nephew, William Andrews; a special cousin, Esther Long; 24 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three sons, John Andrews Sr., Charles Harmon and Preston Harmon Jr., a sister, Elsie Hart; two brothers, Albert Clark and Renzi Andrews; two daughters-in-law, Laverne Harmon and Thelma Harmon; and two grandchildren.



Mrs. Harmon will lie in repose Friday, March 2, from noon to 2 p.m., at Antioch A.M.E. Church, 194 Clayton Ave., Frankford. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A. in Salisbury, Md.
