Downtown Dixieland Band at Milford Farmers Market

August 17, 2011

Looking for just-picked produce: vine-ripened tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, succulent peaches, delicious sweet corn, juicy watermelons - and entertainment? The Downtown Dixieland Band, an ensemble of the Milford Community Band, which has many performances throughout the year at nursing homes, private parties and other community events, recently provided Dixieland music for the patrons of the Milford Farmers Market.

The Milford Farmers Market, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturdays, May 7 through Oct. 29, is located on North Walnut Street at Riverwalk. It features naturally grown fresh produce from growers like Scott Miller of Gravelly Run Farms as well as unique art objects and gourmet food. Willow Park Studio displayed its art accessories earlier this summer, and local chefs David Hines of Tout de Suite Patisserie and John Sapienza were also in attendance, along with Ari and Lexi August, who offered homemade baked goods and candies.
