Pen and ink watercolor miniatures class starts May 3 at Rehoboth Art League
The process of using pen and ink to make a drawing dates back to seventh and eighth century China. Combining watercolor with pen and ink has also been used by artists and illustrators for years. One of the great characteristics of this wonderful blending of media is its ability to be used in small formats. Pen and ink watercolor paintings can be incredibly small and still be packed with detail and realism.
Rehoboth Art League will offer a Pen and Ink Watercolor Miniatures class from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursdays, May 3 to 24. Instructor Edilu Nehrbas will teach participants how to make miniature life drawings of bees, berries, fish, shells, landscapes and more. The drawings will then be incorporated into one-of-a-kind notecards or tiny hanging works of art. The cost is $115 for members and $150 for nonmembers.
To register for the class, go to www.rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408, Ext. 112. All classes are held at the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres.
