The fundraising event featured a live and silent auction, food, drinks and entertainment under a lighted tent on Lewes Public Library grounds.

Stamped, limited-edition drawings of Marvel and DC superheroes were among the silent auction offerings.
An eye-catching women’s bike with Blooming Boutique gift card, wine and glasses silent auction offering just in time for Mother’s Day.
An electric guitar signed by U2 band members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. was a live auction item.
Attendees bought cupcakes for a chance to win a custom charm designed by G.B Heron and Co. Goldsmiths and placed into one of these cupcakes baked by Carolina Sugary Fairy.
Sussex Academy held its third and final Derby Day May 5 on the green at Lewes Public Library to raise funds to update the school’s interior lighting.
Outgoing school director Dr. Patricia Oliphant introduced incoming director Eric Anderson, currently finishing out the year as vice president at The Charter School of Wilmington.
Attendees wore their finest Kentucky Derby hats and fashions to the event, which featured live music, food, drinks, silent and live auction, and the Kentucky Derby on a large screen.
