June 4, 2018

Cynthia McKee Smith of North Wales, Pa., passed away peacefully at home Tuesday evening, May 29, 2018, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of 38 years to Anthony L. Ciaccio Jr. (Neno), whose care and devotion was unfailing.

Cyndie was born Dec. 21, 1953, in Kingston, N.C., the youngest daughter of Jayne Willey Smith and Charles Warner Smith Jr. Her formative years were happily spent in Arden. Cyndie graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, N.J., in 1971, and American University in Washington, D.C., in 1975.

Cyndie’s working life was spent employed as an office manager with corporations in the Philadelphia area before retiring. Cyndie enjoyed nature in all its variety, and was an avowed animal lover and nature photographer. She cared for generations of birds in her yard and adored, many fortunate rescued pets over the years.

Cyndie and Neno hosted many holidays and family celebrations in their home and gardens where food and laughter were in abundance.
Summer vacations in Lewes were a family tradition throughout her life, and provided cherished memories of magical summers.

Cyndie will always be remembered for her wit, her love of family, and as a devoted wife, daughter, sister and aunt. Cyndie is survived by her husband; her mother Jayne Willey Smith of Lewes; her sisters Deborah Smith Hengemuhle (William) of Hilton Head, S.C., and Julia Allen Smith (Eugene J. Morris Jr. ) of Milton; her niece Kate H. Vincze; and her nephews Tyler Morris, Martin Mulligan and William Hengemuhle.

At Cyndie's request there are no funeral services scheduled. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.
