Arthur V. Jenkins Jr., dedicated line worker
Arthur V. Jenkins Jr., 75, of Millsboro, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born Tuesday, May 4, 1943, in Glenolden, Pa., son of the late Arthur V. Jenkins Sr. and Anna (Kromka) Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins was a proud auto line worker, retiring after more than 30 dedicated years from the GM Assembly Plant in Wilmington. He loved being a Little League coach for both baseball and softball. He coached and managed teams for many years in Newark and Millsboro. Mr. Jenkins was an avid fisherman, casting a line at every opportunity, and enjoyed hitting the links on occasion, as well. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John D. Zschiedrich Jr.; his four brothers; and his two sisters. He was survived by his wife, Jacqueline E. (Murphy) Jenkins; his sons: Arthur V. Jenkins III and his wife Jeanne of Smyrna, Bryan F. Jenkins and his wife Carol of Smyrna and Mark T. Jenkins and his wife Denise of Clayton; his daughter, Dawn Zschiedrich of Millsboro; his 11 grandchildren; and his 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.
