New baseball coaches join Delaware Tech

Delaware Technical Community College Owens Campus in Georgetown announced the recent addition of Stu Madden and Mike DiCarlo as the new head coach and assistant coach, respectively, for the baseball team.

Madden, 32, takes over head coaching duties from Curtis Brock, who recently retired after coaching for 30 years. He has been head coach of Seaford High School for the past three years and was Henlopen Conference Coach of the Year in 2017. Originally from Langhorne, Pa., Madden played center field at Wesley College from 2007-09. In 2008, he set a Wesley College single-season record for hits and runs, and he remains one of the all-time leaders in hits, runs, and stolen bases. He was also a two-time all-conference player while at Wesley. He currently lives in Ellendale with his wife, Stephanie, and their two kids, Chase and Carter.

“I’m extremely passionate about coaching baseball,” Madden said. “Being able to compete at a high level, and being able to coach and mold young men is a great opportunity.”

DiCarlo, 32, has coached at Seaford High School since 2009. He played catcher at University of Maryland Eastern Shore from 2005-06. He currently lives in Seaford.
