Delaware Hospice ranks in top 10 midsize workplaces

Delaware Hospice placed eighth among midsize workplaces in the 2011 Top Workplace Survey performed by Workplace Dynamics and the News Journal.

Each year, Workplace Dynamics LLC and the News Journal seek nominations for the best workplaces. Results are tabulated and scored by Workplace Dynamics, and the top finishers are listed at www.delawareonline.com. Survey questions focused on key areas such as conditions in the workplace, career opportunities, management, and pay and benefits.

When employees were asked what they like most about their job, Delaware Hospice staff demonstrated appreciation for the meaningfulness of their work, the people they work with, and their managers. Comments included: “My job has purpose and allows me to help those in need have a better quality of life. I love my job.” “The people that I work with, the quality of care that we provide, great benefits, and my manager.” “It's a family-oriented employer who really cares about you and your future in the company.”

Members of the Delaware Hospice community were thrilled to learn that the organization had placed in the top 10 in its category.

Delaware Hospice’s President and CEO Susan Lloyd, MSN, RN, expressed her gratitude to staff, saying, “You are the face of quality care and compassion for patients and families with life-limiting illnesses. I am proud to be associated with each and every one of you and I look forward to continuing to live our mission, together, as a team.”

Board of trustees member and immediate past Chair Ronda Myers said, “What a wonderful testament to the leadership, staff and volunteers of Delaware Hospice! All of you exemplify true professionalism and commitment to our communities, and I could not be prouder to be a part of such a wonderful organization. Thank you for letting me be a part of your team.”

Delaware Hospice’s receptionist in its Wilmington office, Sakimah Williams, said, “This has been the best place to work. I genuinely love my job, and I love the people I work with every day.”
