The Broadkill River flows for its entire length in eastern Sussex County. From Milton, the river flows generally eastward, passing through wetlands and salt marshes in Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. These wetlands are home to hundreds of animals, many of which you might see with the naked eye although binoculars are recommended. We strongly suggest bringing your camera (and your favorite beverage!)
For lunch, call ahead and place your order with Irish Eyes Pub and Restaurant on Union Street in Milton, DE along the shore of the Broadkill River (302-684-8889). Once we reach the docks in Milton, you'll have 45 minutes to pick up your lunch and explore the charming downtown. You can enjoy your lunch upon re-boarding as we begin the journey back to Lewes.
