Weekend Wonderland in Bethany to open Dec. 1

Hosted annually the first four Saturdays in December, Weekend Wonderland in Bethany will kick off from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, throughout downtown Bethany Beach. Local merchants will offer special promotions and activities, and a variety of festivities will take place.

Each Saturday at 5 p.m., attendees may gather around the tree on the bandstand to sing along to popular winter and holiday songs. Donations of nonperishable food items and new or gently used warm clothing items may be dropped off at the Neighbors in Need vehicle parked at the bandstand entrance from 5 to 6 p.m. each Saturday.

The Elf on the Shelf Bingo Scavenger Hunt will return for the second year. All four weekends, shoppers can visit participating stores in search of the elf to fill a bingo card and enter to win weekly prizes. Winners will be announced each Saturday at the bandstand, before caroling.

Carriage rides will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m. each Saturday, beginning in front of Town Hall. Many businesses will host events throughout the day each Saturday, and Santa will be visiting different locations each weekend.

Weekend Wonderland in Bethany Beach is a collaboration of the Bethany Beach Business Forum, the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, the Coastal Point, and the Town of Bethany Beach.
