John T. Zeitler, had gift of gab

December 26, 2018

John T. Zeitler, 51, of Millsboro, and formerly of Maryland, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 24, 2018.  He was born in Baltimore, Md., Sept. 2, 1967, to the late Tom Zeitler, and Theresa Neville Zeitler, who survives him.

In 1988 he married Teresa Jones, and together they raised two sons.  John was an accomplished man who worked in construction, trucking, and was a master of all trades, including welding.  Despite battling chronic pain from a serious construction accident over 20 years ago, when he fell seven stories, he went on to drive trucks. He loved fishing, and adored his sons and grandkids.  John was a family man. His CB handle was “Jabberjaws,” reflecting his gift of gab, skill at telling stories, and was a true friend. He was an open book, and very talkative. He never held back, and never stabbed you in the back - you got it straight on if he thought you needed it!  He was a BBQ expert, especially in the proper way to cook a steak.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa, and two sons: Brandon Zeitler (Samantha) of Millsboro, and Eric Zeitler (Jessica) of Indian Head, Md.  Also surviving are his sister: Marcie Lenick (Dan) of Millsboro; and his brother: Gerard Zeitler (Jennifer) of La Plata, Md.  John has four grandchildren: Emma, Joshua, Paisley and Hazel Zeitler.

A time of visitation, viewing, and fellowship will be held Sunday, Dec. 30, from 1 to  3 p.m.  Remarks and sharing will be done by Pastor Curtis Jones, and friends and family members through this time.
