Cape softball falls to Milford 4-1

April 4, 2019

Cape scored first but could not hold the lead as the Lady Vikings softball team fell to the Bucs 4-1 April 2 in Milford.

Ryleigh Elliott scored on a ground out by Carlin Quinn in the first inning. The Bucs scored three in the bottom of the first, which proved to be all they needed. The Bucs moved to 3-1, while the Vikings fell to 1-3.

“Despite the loss, we made improvements today,” said Cape head coach Shannon Timmons. “Defensively, we cut down on the errors, and we made contact at the plate, just hitting right at Milford’s defensive players. Our pitchers are doing a good job, and we will just look to keep getting better every day.”

Senior Savannah Reed took the loss for the Vikings, while Bianca Salisbury pitched a three-hitter and collected the victory for the Buccaneers.

The Vikings were set to return to action Thursday, April 4, at Smyrna.
