Cape field hockey alumni games showcase 25 years of talent and tradition

The Wednesday night before Thanksgiving is locals night for the younger crowd, as kids home from college meet and greet with their friends at the beach.

Cape field hockey rocks the alumni game world with a coordination of championships and traditions. Organized by Dom Scott and Brittany Bailey with assistance from coach Debbie Windett, the players were divided into eight teams spanning 22 years of players with 80 total players showing up to participate. The action at Champions Stadium was fast and furious – old and washed up jokes just didn’t apply – these women could all still play.

A pair of simultaneous cross-field games, each 20 minutes with a running clock. The veterans joked about “how old they felt” and the class of 1999 wore gray granny wigs, but when the action started, it was players getting after each other.

The four goalies who each played four games were Steve Judge, Becca Yanacek, Katie Kolobielski and Tina Gooding.

Team 3 included: Erin Cahill (2004), Dom Scott (2004), Laura Olenderski (2006), Mallory Talbot (2006), Rebecca Pepper (2010), Jody Boyer (2018), Carly Truitt (2018), Lindsay Monigle (2018), Annie Judge (2018) and Katie Frederick (2018).

Team 4 included: Lexi Gooch (2016), Sydney Ostroski (2016), Anna Steiner (2016), Tess Bernheimer (2016), Carly Dmiterchik (2016), Cami Smith (2020), Anna Stancofski (2020), Abby Kane (2020), Bella Conte (2020), Marlee Geppert (2020) and LeeLee Wilson (2020).
