Nancy Jean Montague, Nutrisystem executive

Nancy Jean Montague, 68, of Rehoboth Beach passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, with her loving husband by her side. She was born June 26, 1951,in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of the late Edward and Maryann (Jobolski) Goehring.  

Mrs. Montague graduated from the West Nebraska Nursing School. She worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals in the Denver area before beginning her employment with Nutrisystem as a corporate head nurse trainer in Philadelphia, Pa. Mrs. Montague traveled the entire country and even to Germany, where she set up new franchises and company stores for Nutrisystem. From there, she retired after more than 15 dedicated years. Prior to moving to Delaware., she lived in Northport, Long Island, N.Y., and opened a children’s consignment store that her neighbor ran for several years. Mrs. Montague loved talking books, going out to dinner, collecting Brimfield Antiques, and enjoyed going to various Austin Healy car club and rug collector events. She was also a dedicated Lutheran and faithfully attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Nancy was a petite woman but very strong; she was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the young age of 11 and was not supposed to live past 30. No matter how many doctors and hospital visits she endured, she made the best of everyday and people loved her.  

Mrs. Montague is survived by her husband of 37 years, John H Montague of Rehoboth Beach; her son, Ted Montague of Rehoboth Beach; her brother, Robert Geohring (Lori) of Woodstock, Ga.; her sister, Sally Digiovinni of Marietta, Ga.; her nephews: Justin Geohring of Charleston, S.C., and Shannon Goehring of Acworth, Ga.; and her beloved dogs, Cole and Sox.

Services will be private.  Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkin-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
