Robert Lee Riddle, retired mechanic

Mr. Robert Lee Riddle, 77, of Gumboro passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.  

Mr. Riddle was born in Seaford Oct. 8, 1942, to the  late David and Virginia Huskins Riddle.  In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Riddle in 2016; and a son, Robert Lee Riddle Jr. in 2000; as well as several of his siblings.

Robert retired from Suburban Propane after approximately 20 years of service where he worked as a mechanic.  He also worked at Selbyville Ford Tractor as a mechanic in his younger years.  Robert was also a poultry and livestock farmer.  He enjoyed Wilson’s Auction and livestock auctions.  He loved Sunday dinners and shopping.

He is survived by two sons, Steve Riddle (Lori)  and Jimmy Riddle (Michelle), all of Millsboro.  He also leaves behind eight siblings, Cindy, Linda, Hazel, Yvonne, Dorothy, Vivian, Glen and Allan; as well as six grandchildren: Hillary Sellers (Brett), Bobbi Jo Tice (Jason), Ryan Riddle, Zachary Riddle (Tiffany), Adam Riddle (Jessica) and Dylan Riddle; along with 11 great-grandchildren, David, Savannah, Karrigan, Aubree, Parker, Kenliegh, Kaylee, Chase, Spencer, Hayley and Lukas.

A memorial service will be held at  7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 20, at John 21 Ministries, 32852 Sussex Hwy., Laurel. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Meals on Wheels, 546 S. Bedford St., Georgetown, DE  19947.
