The Mulligan’s Pointe’s Cash for Big Game Night event is set for Thursday, Jan. 30, and 10 percent of proceeds from dinner and the games will be donated to the Ken Cicerale Memorial Music Forever – a fund through the Delaware Community Foundation.

Dinner is available from 5 to 9 p.m. and game night starts at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended.

Jazz musician Ken Cicerale passed away Aug.16, 2019, five months after a cancer diagnosis. He was a classically trained clarinetist, jazz alto saxophonist, music educator, and past director of a multimillion-dollar awards program at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, where he was the first to advocate for aspiring jazz composers to be included in the awards program.

Cicerale passed too soon, but his legacy lives on through this fund his wife Josie Cicerale has created, which will provide music scholarships to youth. He was helped through similar scholarships while he was pursuing a career in music.

Through contributions from family, supporters and special events, Josie has raised $15,000. In order to give scholarships in 2020, she needs to raise $10,000 more by the end of January. Local residents are encouraged to help her reach this goal to benefit Sussex County youth.
