Lavina Road in Milton a century or so ago

Yes, the street that comes into Milton from the southwest from Sand Hill Road was once known as Lavina Road. In more recent years it has come to be known as Lavinia Road. It carries travelers between the large Wagamons Pond to the east and the much smaller Lavina Pond to the west. The two are connected by a narrow waterway over which a causeway, shown here, was built in the late 1800s or early 1900s as a way to cross and get into town. Milton’s origins date back to the late 1600s.
