Author Elise Seyfried to read from new book March 5
Elise Seyfried, author of four books of humorous, spiritual essays, will read stories from and sign copies of her latest book, “In Discovery: Thoughts on an Unfolding Life” at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 5, at the Lewes Public Library.
She writes about her hectic, perfectly imperfect life as an actor, church worker, writer, mother of five children and grandma of two – and the wonder of God’s grace through it all. Among the subjects of “In Discovery” are Seyfried’s annual search for a live Baby Jesus for the church Christmas pageant, her disastrous yard sales, breaking up with her Fitbit, outsmarting a resident mouse, and getting lost (many times) during a European adventure.
The book will be for sale at the event for $15, and a portion of all proceeds benefits the Rehoboth Beach Writers’ Guild.
Seyfried, who founded the Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre with her husband Steve in 1982, blogs at www.capegazette.com. Her essays have also appeared in many publications including The Philadelphia Inquirer, “Chicken Soup for the Soul,” Huff Post, Purple Clover, Living Lutheran, Guideposts, Grok Nation, Shore Monthly and Modern Loss.
