Bonnie Joyce Wilson, beloved wife, mother
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Joyce Wilson, 86 years young, formerly of Upper Marlboro, Md. Bonnie was born in Washington, D.C., March 20, 1933, and received her Everlasting Reward Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020. Bonnie moved to Rehoboth Beach in 2010 and spent the past four-and-a-half years in the loving hearts and hands of the staff at Country Rest Home in Greenwood.
Bonnie was a born leader, having been a longtime Girl Scout leader, a member of the Golden Techites (1951) for over 70 years, Sigma Epsilon Sorority, and past sovereign grand master of Schuyler Colfax #10 Rebekah Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. She volunteered generously for many local and national organizations over her lifetime.
Bonnie was an ace duck-pin bowler in her day, an impeccably talented seamstress, and was amazingly adept at arts and crafts. She always had a novel or two in her hands, usually reading four to five novels per week in addition to the daily Washington Post and a plethora of magazines. Bonnie passed along her love of animals, butterflies, hummingbirds, traveling, learning and volunteering to her loving daughter.
Above all, Bonnie cherished time spent with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ronald Wallace Wilson. She is survived by her adoring daughter and only daughter, Susan Wilson Krick and her husband Richard Warren Krick Sr. and dog Buffy Pearl; her beloved brother-in-law, Charles F. Wilson; her niece, Karen Wilson; her nephew, Mark Wilson, and their families. Bonnie loved her extended adult grandchildren and their families #foreverandaday.
Interment will be held Friday, March 20, at 2 p.m., which would have been Bonnie's 87th birthday, at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel, 8000 Woodward Road, Clinton, Md.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Bonnie's memory to the Delaware SPCA, at www.delspca.org.
