Sherri Ann Runne, loved family gatherings

Sherri Ann Runne, 53, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, at her home in Millsboro. She was born May 1, 1967, in North Bergen, N.J., the daughter of Benjamin Hoffner and the late Susan Hoffner.

Sherri was happiest when her family and friends casually gathered together for Sunday dinners or backyard BBQs. She enjoyed cooking for those she loved, and was especially fond of holidays, celebrations, and the sense of family unity these brought.

She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, “Mimi” and friend, whose contagious smile, great sense of humor, outlook on life, and generous heart will be deeply missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know her.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Nadine Hoffner. She is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Michael Runne, and their four children, Michael Runne (Mara), Alexa Bradley (JJ), Garett Runne, and Lindsay Runne; her sister Karen Garolis (Billy); her grandchildren, Cami Runne, Briella Runne, Mykey Runne, Carter Runne, Milo Runne, and Westynn Runne; and all her fur babies.

A public viewing for Sherri will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford St., Georgetown.  Funeral services are private.  

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing protocols must be observed, and masks must be worn by everyone attending the viewing.
