Harold C. Wyatt Sr., equipment operator

Harold C. Wyatt Sr., 83, of Milton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.

Harold was born in Milton, the son of the late John Boone and Annie Steele Wyatt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War and received three bronze stars. He worked for A.P Croll as an equipment operator, DelDOT, Draper Cannery and the Town of Georgetown in the maintenance department for 11 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and the outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Harold Wyatt Jr., infant son, Melvin Wyatt; and 15 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Leona Courtney Wyatt; nine children, caretaker of three years, Debbie Givens, Laverna M. Bush, Bonnie Lee Porter, Harold C. Wyatt Jr., Dennis B. Wyatt, Thomas D. Wyatt, Carol A. Wyatt, Kelvin J. Wyatt, and Amy Jo Wyatt; 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 23, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after noon. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
