Milton Town Council to meet Jan. 27
Milton Town Council will meet at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Cannery Village clubhouse, to hold an executive session and adopt the fiscal year 2021 tax rate. While the executive session will be closed to the public, the tax rate vote will be conducted in open session. Milton traffic calming committee to meet
Milton’s Traffic Calming Advisory Ad Hoc Committee will hold its first meeting at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Cannery Village clubhouse. The committee was formed to look at ways to reduce speeding through Milton. The first meeting will include discussion and a possible vote on approaches to reducing speed, research on traffic management, and review of traffic measures already in place, large truck traffic, dangerous intersections, crosswalks and signs. The committee will also discuss ways to gather community input and whether a traffic study is needed.
Sussex County Council meeting set for Jan. 26
Sussex County Council will meet at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda are an interview of Sussex County Board of Adjustment nominee John Travis Hastings and a presentation by Tony DePrima, executive director of Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility, on Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing. Lewes downtown parking group to meet
The Lewes Downtown Business District Parking Committee will meet virtually at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 25. The group will discuss parking lot improvements at Otis Smith Park near the Beacon Motel, and using the Lewes Little League lot near Canalfront Park and Beebe Healthcare’s ground-level lot during off-peak hours. Also on the agenda are a discussion regarding signage and marketing for parking areas, and a discussion about fee increases and possible changes to hours of operation for parking meters. Lewes Parks and Rec meeting set for Jan. 25
The Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission will meet virtually at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25. The group will discuss a proposal for a veterans memorial in Canalfront Park and a possible donation of holly bushes from Lewes in Bloom. Dewey marketing committee to meet
The Dewey Beach Marketing Committee will meet virtually at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27. Members will discuss the potential implementation of new rules on the bay beach and how the rules would affect the town from a marketing perspective. Dewey infrastructure committee to meet
The Dewey Beach Infrastructure Committee will meet virtually at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 25. Members will discuss and possibly vote to recommend the implementation of an infrastructure improvement project for restoration of Coastal Highway medians throughout town limits.
