DAR Nathaniel Mitchell Chapter performs services for community

The Maj. Nathaniel Mitchell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has been busy despite having to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under Project Patriot, chapter members collected and delivered food items, hand sanitizer and calendars to the USO in Dover for service men and women. The chapter also donated gift bags and gift cards to the veterans at Home of the Brave in Milford.

The chapter presented a donation of books to the Bridgeville Public Library Dec. 10.

A wreath was laid at the gravesite of Nathaniel Mitchell at Old Christ Church in Laurel. Through Wreaths Across America, the chapter donated several wreaths to Barratt’s Chapel in Frederica for the Revolutionary War patriots who are buried there. Members also placed wreaths in honor of a Vietnam veteran and a World War II veteran at the Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro Dec. 19.
