Harry A. Weaver Jr., loved fishing
Harry A. Weaver Jr. "Pier Harry," 69, of Lewes, and previously of Willow Street, Pa., passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. He was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Lancaster, Pa., son of the late Harry Albert and Barbara (Globisch) Weaver.
Mr. Weaver grew up in Lancaster and graduated from McCaskey High School, Lancaster. Following graduation he spent a lifelong career working for Pennsylvania Power & Light in Quarryville, Pa. Shortly after retirement in 1999, Mr. Weaver moved to the shore in Lewes. Here he enjoyed his passion for fishing. He also enjoyed telling stories especially fishing stories with his family and friends. Mr. Weaver truly enjoyed being with his family; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Shirley M. Weaver, his great-grandson, Justin McElroy; and his sister Barbara A. Heidelgaugh. He is survived by his son, Michael H. Weaver and his wife Shawn of Robensonia, Pa.; three daughters: Debra Ann Rehm of New Providence, Pa., Jenny Myers and her husband Jeff of New Providence, and Dawn Sanders and her husband Greg of Elizabethtown, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Larry Weaver and his wife Pam of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii, and Jack Weaver and his wife Trudy of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 13, at Reynolds Funeral Home,144 E. State St., Quarryville, Pa. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 until 4 p.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Mr. Weaver's name.
