Summer League Week 1

 

Elementary Division-

 

In the opening night of play on Monday, June 14th, the Dunes defeated the Guards by a final of 4-0 with Madori Torres have the big scoring night with all the goals for her Dunes team. In the other game of the evening, the Tides eked out a win on a last second goal by Brynn Evick, to defeat the Waves by a final of 3-2. Vivian Bolden had put the Waves into the early lead with a goal at 5:00 on the 1st quarter but Evick tied it with her first goal at 2:14 in the same quarter. Ellis Hay put the Waves back on top with her goal at 6:20 in the 4th quarter, but Evick tied it at 6:08. The winning goal was scored at :20.

 

On June 16th, the Guards earned a 3-1 win over the Tides. Macy Wheatley (2) and Brielle DiStefano did the scoring for the Guards while Evick had the solo goal for the Tides. The second game of the night saw the Waves defeating the Dunes by a final of 2-0. Hay and Jillian Reed had the goals for the Waves.

 

Senior Division-

 

The senior division opened play on June 14th with the Bengals scoring a late goal by Cadence McMahon to earn the 1-0 win over the Corals. The second game of the night saw the Baffins defeat the Seahawks by a final of 3-0. Tegan McCord, Hailey Moore and Norah Block had the goals for the Baffins. The nightcap was a awesome, back and forth game between the Pumas and the Artics ending in a 1-1 final when Kay Cordrey scored at 6:56 in the final quarter to earn the tie. Julie Daniello’s goal at 3:42 in the 3rd quarter had given the Artics the temporary.

 

The Seahawks opened Wednesday night play with a 3-0 victory over the Corals. Julianna Sterling opened the scoring with her goal at 1:06 in the 1st quarter. Emmi Swope scored the backbreaker at 8:29 of the 4th quarter and Josephine Peranteau put the game away with her goal at :26 remaining. In the second game, the Bengals came back for a 4-1 win over the Artics. Chloe Wood had opened the scoring for the Artics at 6:45 of the 1st quarter but after that it was all Bengals with Madi Cook (2), Maggie Mitchell, and Emma Westbrook doing the scoring for the Bengals. In the final game, the Baffins dominated the Pumas for a 6-0 win. Lacy Bayley (2), Norah Block, Sommer Dorman, Maci Long and Teagan McCord had the goals for the Baffins.

 

Play continues on Monday, June 21st, with the elementary division starting play at 6:00-
