One of Delaware’s earliest public transportation buses

Public buses are an increasingly important mode of transportation in Sussex County as our roads become more congested. This 1920 photograph from a Caesar Rodney Attendance Day event shows one stage in the evolution of public transportation. Attendance Day at Caesar Rodney High School in Kent County apparently celebrated the importance of high attendance percentages in terms of maximizing tax dollars spent for teachers and schools.
