Bayhealth welcomes maternal-fetal medicine physician Peter Konchak
Bayhealth recently announced the addition of Peter Konchak, DO, to the Bayhealth Maternal-Fetal Medicine practice.
Konchak joins maternal-fetal medicine physicians Garrett H.C. Colmorgen, MD, and Christos G. Hatjis, MD, and women’s health nurse practitioner Annie D. Kearns, WHNP-BC. The practice is part of the Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of highly trained physicians, their clinical staff, and an administrative support team that operates practices throughout central and southern Delaware.
Konchak is now accepting new patients.
“Dr. Konchak is a valuable addition to our medical practice,” said Dina Perry, MBA, vice president of physician services for Bayhealth Medical Group. “With his strong clinical expertise, and genuine and caring manner, he will be an asset in caring for women in our community with complicated or high-risk pregnancies and maintaining the health of their babies.”
Konchak was director of maternal-fetal medicine at Inspira Health Network in southern New Jersey. He has more than 35 years of experience in his field, providing devoted and thorough care for expectant mothers and their babies. He is a graduate of Des Moines University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Iowa, did his residency at Lansing General Hospital in Michigan, and completed fellowship training at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont through the University of Vermont.
A retired captain in the United States Navy, Konchak was an active-duty medical doctor and offered gynecological, obstetric and maternal-fetal medicine services at naval hospitals and other military facilities across the U.S. and abroad. He is an experienced clinician and educator, having served as a professor in various medical schools and residency programs at Michigan State University, University of Vermont, University of New England and Rowan University.
