Constitution discussion with Delaware justices set Sept. 17

September 8, 2021

On Sept. 17, 1787, the Founding Fathers signed the most influential document in American history, the U.S. Constitution. To commemorate this momentous occasion, Delaware Supreme Court Justice Karen Valihura and retired Justice Randy J. Holland will join Lewes Public Library Distinguished Lecturer Ronald Collins for a Constitution Day discussion at 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, available both in person at the library and via Zoom. Valihura will give remarks, followed by a panel discussion comparing the U.S. Constitution and the Delaware Constitution.

“Come learn about some of the unique features of our own Delaware Constitution and how it differs from the U.S. Constitution, and hear our panel discuss cases decided by our Delaware Supreme Court,” said Valihura. In-person seating is limited, and registration is required through the Lewes Public Library website. At registration, participants will be asked to select virtual or in-person attendance. To sign up, go to lewes.lib.de.us and visit the Virtual Programs for Adults page.
