State chamber webinar to explore Healthy Delaware Families Act
The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce will offer a webinar at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, on What the Healthy Delaware Families Act Means for Your Business.
The legislation proposes to require all Delaware employers with 10 or more employees to have family and medical leave policies and a state-run policy option that includes a split financial contribution between employer and employee.
An opportunity to learn more about this proposal is being offered by the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, Delaware SHRM, and DelMarVa SHRM. Attendees will hear from: Rick Geisenberger, Delaware Department of Finance secretary; Karryl Hubbard, Delaware Department of Labor secretary; Sen. Sarah McBride, D-Wilmington North; Jacqueline Poquette, Delaware Society for Human Resource Management State Council director; and Albert Shields, Office of the Governor deputy chief of staff for policy.
Moderated by State Chamber President Mike Quaranta, this discussion will explore what’s in the bill, how it impacts employers and employees, the Department of Labor’s role in administering the proposed program, and the Department of Finance’s economic perspective on the act. Attendees’ questions and concerns will also be addressed. All questions must be submitted in advance by Friday, Feb. 11.
