The Choir School of Delaware, a comprehensive after-school program with a strong legacy of serving and engaging Wilmington’s youth and families through music and mentoring, will appear in concert at 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 20, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Lewes. Doors open for seating at 3:30 p.m.
Historically known as the Cathedral Choir School of Delaware, the school provides professional musical training, leadership and language skills, academic support and college-bound mentoring for youth in Wilmington and the surrounding region.
Part of the 2021-22 season of St. Cecilia Music Guild, the concert will also be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube. Direct links to the concert can be found at stpeterslewes.org. All of the guild’s programs are free and open to the public. Proof of full COVID vaccination and face masks are required for entry to this performance.
“The virus is still very much a threat to many in the community, especially those with pre-existing conditions. We take these measures as a sign of love and concern for one another,” said the Rev. Jeffrey Ross, church rector.
The guild is an outreach music program that has offered a broad spectrum of programming over the past six years, including classical, gospel, jazz and contemporary works. To learn more, go to stpeterslewes.org/music/st-cecilia-guild.
Recent major renovations to St. Peter’s Church at Second and Market streets included installation of a high-definition broadcast system, so many of this season’s events will be broadcast live and remain available for later viewing.
